Vox Media Has Too Much Money
Employees of Vox: if you've been thinking about asking for a raise, now is the time. (Updated)
The above 30-second spot advertising The Verge, a technology website owned by cash-flush Vox Media, was leaked to YouTube earlier today, and AdWeek has confirmed that it will run during the February 1 Super Bowl telecast (Update: Sorta; see below). The ad depicts a world filled with technological wonders, like ski lifts, lakes, and a guy crying with a virtual reality headset on. It is distinguishable from the following only in its production values:
